On 3D-FRONT you can get reference photos, detailed photo textures, complete ready-to-go textures, high-res prints by world renowned graphic artists (2D and 3D art), 3D models, sounds, videos, etc. If you cannot find something you feel we should offer, please contact us. We'll be happy to hear your recommendation(s) and make improvements.
Our search engine works the same as any other internet search engine except that it searches only through our database. Here are some tips for correct and effective use of our SEARCH:
By typing (+) directly in front of your keyword(s) you can specify words that must be included in the results (example: +wall +stone). For more specific search results use our pull-down menus (CATEGORY, USER, TYPE). For example, you can display all files of a specific USER. Choose their nickname in the menu and click SEARCH.
Paid file: with this option checked the search will be performed within files that have a set price
In category with subscription: the search will be performed within files that are available through subscription(s)
Free to download: the search will be performed within files that are available for free download
Purchased: the search will be performed within files that are available in your subscription(s) or files that you have already purchased
What is a PREMIUM account and why become a PREMIUM member
A member who subscribes to a category for 30 or more days automatically becomes a PREMIUM member with a PREMIUM account. Premium account allows daily unlimited downloads.
Number of daily downloads is otherwise limited.
Didn't find what you were looking for? Don't despair. Take advantage of our REQUEST feature. Describe exactly what you're looking for, and our photographers, 2D/3D graphic artists, animators and sound artists all over the world will try to get you what you need. You will get email notifications about any responses to your REQUEST. Once your requested material is made available you will be able to download your file either as a direct purchase, or from one of our SUBSCRIPTION sections. It is quite possible that you might be able to acquire your material for FREE. It depends on the creator and how they appraise their material.
You can also offer your material. All you need to do is to register and start uploading in MY PROFILE. Follow your file's statistics and make money or CREDITS. Watch the REQUESTs section, it could be that somebody is looking for a material you are able to provide. That's a good way to increase your earnings.
How to subscribe to a category?
You can subscribe in one of two ways:
1. To subscribe to a specific category, click on the SUBSCRIPTION tab. In the CHOOSE CATEGORY menu pick the categories you want to subscribe to. Click on CHOOSE to get a list of subscription period options available for the categories. Most categories offer a subscription duration from one day to one year. Select the duration you want and click SAVE. Your selection will be displayed on top of the page.
You can delete, further edit your categories, or proceed to check out using PayPal or a credit card .You also can combine different subscriptions for different categories.
2. When searching for required files, click on file details. It contains an option to subscribe to a category under which the file belongs.
NOTE: Some categories are not available for subscription, because they contain only pay-per-download files. (If a category is not available for subscription you will be notified after clicking CHOOSE.)
Purchasing single files is easy. Log in, and in large or small preview click ADD TO CART. Clicking on MY CART tab will take you to your cart where you can delete or purchase files.
Use REQUESTS to request material you're trying to acquire for you project and take advantage of our global network of members who may be able to provide what you need. For example, get architectural reference photos from across the globe without the expense of travel.
Respond to a REQUEST by making an offer if you can provide the requested material. Earn money or CREDITS. You can also choose to provide material for free and look forward to seeing your material in a finished project.
Monitor REQUESTS using email notification option.
You have to be a registered member to upload your own files. Log in and you can upload all supported file types. A list of supported file types is available directly in section PROFILE > UPLOAD.
If you don't find your file type on the list and feel that it should be included, please contact administrator.
UPLOAD process and description:
You can upload up to three files at a time (recommended for identical file formats only, e.g. jpg)
Information entered in the DESCRIPTION field will be attached to all simultaneous uploads.
Select under which category your file should appear. If the category you want is not in the list, suggest a new category under file DESCRIPTION.
Next set a price for your file. (You can edit price at any time after publication.)
If you enter a zero value and don't select a category other than FREE, the file will be placed in SUBSCRIPTION and it will earn CREDITS for downloads by subscribing users.
If you place file in the FREE category, it will be available for free download for all 3D-Front users.
If you enter a price value other than zero, other users will be able to purchase the file at that price, and the file will not appear in SUBSCRIPTIONS.
3D-Front charges an administration fee based on the user set price. This fee will be displayed in % beside the price field.
Your net earnings will be listed in your profile. To request a payment go to PROFILE > MONEY. (The lowest payable sum is 30 USD.) After receiving your payment request a 3D-Front administrator will contact you as soon as possible to establish payment terms. We recommend PayPal.
TIP: If you want people to purchase your file enter a realistic price. (You can edit price at any time in your profile.)
Important note about EXIF information: If during UPLOAD you enter DESCRIPTION and CATEGORY for your jpg or tiff files containing EXIF information, the entered information will take priority over the EXIF data.
If you don't fill in the fields in the UPLOAD section, the information will be automatically entered from your EXIF data. If no EXIF data is available, it will be filled in by an administrator during the approval process.
Use ZIP archives only for 3D models and corresponding textures, animations etc. Do not archive multiple graphic files, upload them separately.
To take advantage of ZIP archiving to upload larger amounts of files of the same format, or to upload large amounts of material, don't use the UPLOAD form. Contact the administrator who will give you detailed instructions on how to proceed.
All materials uploaded will be listed in your PROFILE.
To help catalogue your jpg and tiff files in the 3D-Front database, and to speed up the approval process, fill in the following data in your EXIF information:
You can earn CREDITS in several ways:
The main source of CREDITS will be your files that you uploaded into a SUBSCRIPTION category. Every time somebody downloads your file, you earn CREDITS (usually 1 CREDIT per download).
You can also earn CREDITS by responding to REQUESTS, or directly from the administrator as a reward for participation in the project etc.
Use your CREDITS to pay for your SUBSCRIPTION.
What's up with the different color borders around text and pictures?
While previewing files, any file in a category to which you have subscribed will have a highlighted border. Files with a black border are not directly available to you and you need to buy it or subscribe to the appropriate category.
This way you'll know instantly which files are directly available to you and whether new files are included in your subscription.
This is the main page that contains information about the company, news briefs, and the newest REQUESTS. There is a SEARCH form on the left. This SEARCH form is available on all pages. At the bottom of the page there are featured thumbnails of the 25 newest files.
Read through chronologically listed news and find out what's been happening on 3D-FRONT. This page highlights some of the most interesting files, renowned members etc.
Home - New files
Browse uploaded files in chronological order and see which files are directly available to you. This is particularly useful for regular visitors who want to find out what new files have been uploaded since their last visit.
The contact page contains a contact form and contact information. Use this section to ask questions, make suggestions, send feedback or file complaints. We'll be happy to hear from you.
Browse files by categories to find what you need. We offer a simple category structure listing a number of subcategories and number of files it contains.
TIP: Click ADD TO CARD button to add thumbnails into your cart, where you can easily view, delete, purchase and download the files. Lighter color borders indicate files directly available to you for download.
Quick and easy registration. Fill in your information and check your inbox for an activation email. Follow instructions in the email to activate your account. Once you log in, a REGISTRATION tab will be replaced by a PROFILE tab where you can edit your profile and much more.
Profile - My profile
Edit your profile, change your password and monitor your earnings and credits. MY PROFILE also contains a list of categories you have subscribed to along with their expiry dates.
Tip: Content entered under Name will be displayed under your published files' preview. Please choose a name you want to identify yourself with on 3D-Front, or use one which you have already established on other web sites.
Use this simple form to upload your files (up to three files at a time). To avoid problems or rejected files, speed up the publication process, and to take advantage of all UPLOAD features, please pay special attention to UPLOAD instructions.
After clicking the UPLOAD button please wait until transfer is complete. The button will be inactive until the transfer is completed. Depending on the size of your file and your internet connection the transfer may take a while.
Tip: Uploaded files are not automatically published. The files are subject to review and approval by 3D-Front administrator. The review process may take several days. Please be patient. All uploaded material is subject to review in order to maintain high quality of published files. Please note that files will also be reviewed for copyright infringement.
Profile - My files
Information about your uploaded files.
Monitor your uploaded files and edit pricing. Files with zero value will be included in subscription.
Delete and sort files by name, size, status or earned credits.
Switch between statistics and editing modes.
The statistics mode contains information about total DOWNLOADS and total number of USERS who downloaded your files. (The value under USERS may be different from value under DOWNLOADS. DOWNLOADS tracks each time a file was downloaded, including repeated downloads by same user. USERS tracks only downloads by a unique user. If the same user downloads one file 10 times, it will be listed only once)
Earnings statistics. Lists earnings since your last payment and total earnings. A button REQUEST PAYMENT will appear when earnings exceed 30USD. You can use it to request a payment.

Statistics of your purchases.
My cart
Purchase or delete selected items. View file details and download purchased items or items included in your subscription. Payments are accepted through PayPal.
To download multiple files use the ZIP-Download option.
Subscription
Simply subscribe to a category you want. Monitor the status and expiry of your subscription(s).
Add subscription
Add subscriptions by choosing a category under ADD SUBSCRIPTION menu.
Click CHOOSE and pick a subscription duration. You can combine categories and subscription durations. Repeat the process to subscribe to more than one category.
Click SAVE to save your selection(s). Chosen categories will appear on top of the section. Edit your selection or click PAYPAL button to buy your subscription(s).
Your subscription(s) will be activated upon successful payment transfer.
Current subscriptions
Stay informed. Monitor your subscriptions and their expiry dates.
Jump to a subscribed category by clicking on its title.
Requests - All Requests
REQUESTS are designed to help users find exactly what they need with a help of a 3D-Front member.
View posted REQUESTS to find out whether there is somebody looking for an item you are offering or an item you are also looking for.
By a single click move a REQUEST to a monitoring mode to receive an email notification about files approved for that REQUEST, or respond to the REQUEST and send your own files for approval. Click the REQUEST's title for more details.
A list of your own REQUESTS or REQUESTS that you are monitoring. By a single click remove REQUESTS from your list to cancel notification emails if you're no longer interested in updates.
Are you looking for files you didn't find in our database? Don't despair, add your own REQUEST. There is a good chance that one of our members has what you need or can help you to get it.
Update notification emails will be sent to the email address listed in your profile.
